Welcome to
Rattan Montessori School
Joyful Education for Life

Objectives
Children need a developmental society of their peers much as adults need a society of adults. This society is known as "the prepared environment", especially designed to meet the needs of children 2 ½ - 6 years old. Within this setting the budding will, movement, intelligence and emotions of the child are engaged in purposeful activity. The work process at Rattan Montessori facilitates attaining skills, refining tastes, developing sensitivities, expanding concentration, solving problems and achieving new insights.
Providing an environment wherein a child reaches their full potential
Helping a child become self-disciplined.
Encouraging the development of a love of learning.
Nurturing the growth of social and environmental responsibility.
Our Philosophy
One of Dr. Montessori's main tenets is referred to as "sensitive periods", when a child shows unusual capabilities in acquiring specific skills. Another name for this phenomenon could be "formative periods" in which a child is attuned to acquire given ideas or skills more readily than at any other period. At Rattan Montessori we strive to develop a child's physical, intellectual and spiritual abilities by providing the freedom to achieve through order, social responsibility and self-discipline. We ensure that our students are given that freedom in order to maximize these sensitive periods.
Child Development
The growth of the innate dignity and ability of each child, no matter how young, is one of the most valuable and permanent benefits of a 'Montessori education. This idea, so extraordinary at the turn of the 19th century, continues to inspire and guide Montessori parents and educators. This special approach directs a child toward
independence, a keen love of learning and an eager pursuit of challenge.
